The new 360 stage at lost lands known as the Crater Stage supplied some of the most viral showings of lasers and sound production that has ever been put on display at any kind of music festival.
The pyrotechnics having to be locked away this weekend because of drought and wildfire concerns birthed a rare opportunity for the lost lands production team to say “fuck it, were gonna put the entire budget at the crater stage towards lasers”
75 60-watt lasers… for a stage that’s cocooned with an outer wall and can hold 10-15k people inside that perimeter comfortably; it created such an intense but intimate experience.
Pre-party the crater stage was packed to a point that people were outside the wall perimeter, but that didn’t matter. You still had a great and different view of the lasers while still being able to hear the sound coming from the stage perfectly.
Throughout the weekend you could have found the crater stage spacious and full of good vibes with artists taking the stage during excisions 2-hour set that was going on at the main stage.
When I go to lost lands next year those are the kind of vibes that I’m going to be chasing. I love a big crowd and meeting and interacting with all of the great people that are in there, but I really enjoy chasing the artists at big festivals that are still on that grind to get to the main stage.
Why I’m so pumped for Hulaween. So many big but intimate kinds of crowds that are going to be so fun to interact with. That Dirtwire set on Thursday is basically the kind of vibes that I created as a condensed collection of all the experiences that I had at Electric Forest. It will be great to be aligned with those vibes again during my first time exploring Suwanee :)
